Nearing the end of a wonderful family holiday in Normandy. The weather has been glorious and the days action packed. We are all very conscious that it may be some time before we are all together again for any length of time. We have eaten extremely well, played rounders, french cricket and frisbee. We have built a model village in the sand, sailed our inflatable dinghy and played numerous board games. We visited the Normandy landing beaches, a zoo with white lions and a cider factory, so all is right with the world.
For those who missed the excitement on my Facebook status, just before the holiday, on August 13th I managed to pass my Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) on my 125 motorbike. I was ridiculously proud of myself as I had to rebuild my confidence after the traumatic afternoon of my first day's training. My new instructor was a lovely lady called Molly who coaxed and encouraged me through the day. I have two more days riding with her next week which should consolidate my learning. Roll on the off road experiences in Ghana!
Off to explore the delights of the Marina cafe....more soon
