Friday 23rd Oct – evening. To Tamale (90 mins drive south). For Charlotte this is a weekend away with a Regional Meeting on the Saturday. For me it's the start of a one-week tour of the Upper West on Organisational Development (OD) business. We stand by the side of the main road hoping for a bus, tro-tro or something. Eric the TENI co-ordinator (see September) stops and gives us a lift all the way to Tamale where we are meeting fellow-volunteers Mar and Mark. Tamale is a bit of a culture-shock – restaurants! Shops with doors! We’re staying with Mar & Mark.
(By the way the “Typical weekend” entry was the weekend before – or bits of it may have been earlier!).
